See All ReviewsHad the worst food poisoning of my life after eating here. Could have been the airplane food but I didn’t eat much on the plane and who I was traveling with was fine. Also I have celiac (needs gluten free) and I don’t feel this was a safe place for that either.
TL; DR- they give female customers less food but charge the same, and argue with you if you point it out. Don’t come if that bothers you! I went here with my boyfriend before a flight (2:04pm on 3/13/2026) and ordered the chicken and rice bowl, we both ordered the same thing and yet my boyfriend was given noticeably more chicken in the bowl. When we brought this up, the worker insisted it was the same 2 scoops, and refused to add anymore without charging me extra. At this point, I was starting to get frustrated and offered a different worker (the cashier) feedback that they really shouldn’t be serving men and women different amounts as we are both paying the same $13.85. The worker proceeded to defend that they were both two scoops and refused to even out the chicken amounts. After going back and forth for a few minutes, two other female customers walk by me and commented that they had experienced the same thing compared to male customers next to them. By the end, the manager finally shows up (Daniella, if we’re to believe she was being honest about her name) and was trying to gaslight me into thinking there was no difference even after the other customers had already mentioned a similar issue… and my boyfriend had seen it it as well… Anyway after 10 minutes of going back and forth and other customers agreeing with me they just refused to add more chicken to make it even, and just went back and forth on remaking the bowl (they kept saying yes they’d remake, then no).The best I can say is that they ended up giving me a refund and took the food back. All in all kind of a crappy experience, and sad because I generally like the food at CAVA. Weird to pull this stuff in the 21st century especially in the U.S. Oh and @ corporate, train your employees on conflict management better. I’ll be going to chipotle or halal guys instead in the future :)
Lamb meat balls and sweet potatoes with all the toppings is the best way to prepare for a 17 hour flight! Really appreciate the staffs help and recommendations not forgetting their happy manner!
